Wall decals turn a blank wall into branding, a quote, or custom art, with no paint and no mess. Since 2003, Hoosier Decal has produced custom wall decals and vinyl wall lettering in the USA, removable when you want a change and durable while they are up. This guide covers the wall decal types we make, where they work best, the removable vinyl we use, how to apply them cleanly, and how to order. Types of Wall Decals
- Wall lettering and quotes: custom text in any font and color, sized to your wall.
- Logo wall decals: business branding for offices, lobbies, and reception walls.
- Die-cut wall art: shapes, icons, and decorative designs cut to outline.
- Directory and wayfinding lettering: room names, hours, and directional text.
Where Wall Decals Work

- Offices: logos, mission statements, and conference-room branding that looks painted on.
- Retail: promotions, brand walls, and seasonal messaging you can swap out.
- Home: quotes, family names, and decorative lettering for any room.
- Storefronts: pair interior wall decals with window signage. See our vinyl signage.
Material and Removability
Wall decals balance a clean, painted-on look with easy removal when you are ready for a change.
- Smooth-wall vinyl that conforms to painted drywall.
- Removable adhesive that peels off without damaging most cured paint.
- Matte finish options that look like part of the wall, not a shiny sticker.
- Custom colors to match your brand or decor.
For sizing your wall lettering so it reads from across the room, our letter sizing guide applies to walls too.
How to Apply a Wall Decal
- Make sure the wall is clean, dry, and fully cured. Wait several weeks on freshly painted walls.
- Wipe lightly with a barely damp cloth, then let it dry. Skip oily cleaners.
- Level and position the decal with the transfer tape, taping a top edge as a hinge.
- Squeegee or smooth from the center out, working slowly across lettering.
- Peel the transfer tape away at a sharp downward angle, leaving the vinyl on the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will wall decals damage my paint?
Removable wall vinyl peels cleanly from most fully cured painted walls. Avoid freshly painted surfaces for at least three to four weeks so the paint can fully harden.
Do wall decals stick to textured walls?
They work best on smooth or lightly textured walls. Heavily textured or popcorn surfaces reduce adhesion, especially for fine lettering and small details.
Can I get my company logo as a wall decal?
Yes. Upload your logo and we produce a clean, ready-to-apply wall decal, then send a proof for approval.
How long do wall decals last?
Indoors they last for years. They stay put until you choose to remove them, and removable vinyl comes off without a fight when you do.
Are wall decals reusable?
Vinyl wall decals are designed for a single application. Once removed they generally cannot be reapplied, so plan placement before you peel the backing.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship wall decals across all 50 states from our Indiana shop, most within a few business days.
